Update: Technical problems with the Nabaztags’ servers
Hello!
Please find herein a first balance of what has been done during the last days to repair the technical problems of the Nabaztags.
We have 2 goals:
1. Replace the failed server and replace the website.
2. Restart the Nabaztags so that those who are already configured can function, even if the website is not restored.
On Friday we started a disk cleaning operation. This seems to be very long because there are many directories, and in addition, the discs containing the media and the directories of events, etc. were completely saturated.
So we left the machines to their work the whole week-end, and we will inform you soon about the result.
See you soon!

Hello,
thank you for the ‘Update’ about what you have done at the weekend!
So, you started the defrag, and went to weekend, is this correct? And you still don’t have clue what is going on?
If I sound a little bit annoyed to you, you are correct!
Where have you learned the policy about transferring information to your customers? At Russia at the former Communist Party (they needed 4 weeks to tell the public that the reactor was blown away)?
A liitle bit mor ‘serious’ facts could help here. I know your product should transfer a fun-factor of some kind, but this should not be part of your information policy!

Hello!
Indeed, in the moment the fun-factor has gone under a bit. We really try hard to provide news that are as facutal as possible, and as soon as possible.

As a fellow techie, keepup the good work. Would you be able to do a quick DNS switch to a static site in order to redirect uses who go to http://www.voilet.net to the blog. just a thought. Hope they are keeping you well fed with pizza and coke

I think it is time for an open-source service for nabatags/karotz so we can do some of the hosting ourselves. I totaly rely on your servers, and I cannot even get my rabbit to speak locally. Please give evrybody access to an opens-ource alternative

Good morning!
Some of you asked for making the Nabztags open-source. We seriously think about it, even if there is quite a tangle of sources. And there is still the problem about the use of the company’s sources by someone else.
Have a pleasant day!

Also… what time do you have in mind for the service to be up-and-running again? Hours??? Days??? Weeks??? I think it is good to give everybody a reasonable time-to-fix.

Ron, there are already some proxies and servers for Nabaz/tag out there. You just need to run a Java servlet to be able to host mot parts yourself.

Hope it’s all going well?

I also want my Nabaztag to do my 2010 income taxes…clean my fridge…and walk my dog. I’m also really annoyed that my Nabaztag’s belly button doesn’t dispense cheese puffs.
Seriously…thanks for the update. A lot of companies would have just ditched us Nabaztag “early adopters” and forced us into buying the new model if we wanted bunny rabbit goodness in our lives.

Thank you for working on this. Will be nice to have rabbit back soon
Hope it is going well.
